An unknown septic tank location should not be the reason to put off doing regular maintenance. Don’t wait until your septic system backs-up to find the septic tank.

Shawn and his family live in a home in Greenbrier, TN. They started having septic problems, such as slow draining sinks and the toilet was gurgling. [You can find additional signs here.]
They called three different companies out to fix their issues. Each company was unable to locate the septic tank. We admit, some septic tanks are harder to find than others.
That’s when they called us, at Allgood. As you can see in the photos, the septic tank is an usual distance from the home.
We located the tank and found it to be deep in the ground. We suggested installing a riser. In the future this will help the owner with maintenance and give a peace of mind knowing the exact location of their tank. [Read more about the benefits of a riser here]
Once we had the riser installed, we pumped the tank out and added him into our reminder program. Thank you for calling us, Shawn, we appreciate your business and happy we could solve the septic issues!
Establish A Regular Maintenance Schedule
A common question we hear is, “how often should I pump my septic tank out?” The Tennessee Health Department and EPA both recommend septic tanks be pumped every 3-5 years. If you have a pump tank you should consider pumping it every 1-2 years. Maintaining your septic tank on a regular schedule will keep your septic system working for many years.
